Taiwan-based chip manufacturer TSMC announced its profit rate for the second quarter of 2024. The processor market, which experienced decline after decline last year due to the chip crisis, seems to be on the rise this year. Here is TSMC’s profit rate for 2024.
TSMC recorded a 36 percent increase compared to the same period last year!
TSMC announced its earnings for the second quarter of this year. Announcing that net profit increased by 36 percent compared to the same period last year, the company announced that revenues, which were 480.84 billion Taiwan dollars last year, increased to 673.51 billion Taiwan dollars in the second quarter of this year. However, TSMC, which announced that the revenues from smartphone products decreased by 1 percent compared to the first quarter of this year, announced that the revenues from high-performance programming products increased by 28 percent.
Of course, after this statement, it did not go unnoticed that the shares of the company, which also made some statements on the artificial intelligence side, suddenly dropped. The company, which reached record levels in its share value at the beginning of the week, experienced a decline of 2.4 percent after the artificial intelligence announcement. The reason for this decline is seen not only as artificial intelligence but also as the USA. Trump, who made a statement this week about taking a share of the chip business, seems to have played a role in the decline of TSMC shares.
Judging by the sales figures, the dark days in chip production seem to be behind us. The rise in producers’ profit rates is a sign that the situation in the market is improving. However, it is unknown how the moves from other companies will affect TSMC’s situation in the coming days.
TSMC, which continues to compete with companies such as Samsung and Intel, is currently interested in the production of 3 nanometer chips. It is said that mass production of 2 nanometer chips will begin in 2025. Let’s see how TSMC will change the processor market in the coming period.
